Insane retro arcade action for the masses
Challenge
Dell’s code team wanted a fun way to engage with visitors and drive participation during their activation at SXSW.
Solution
A web-based mobile game that allowed attendees to connect to the game and play their way through.
Results
Stellar Wipeout! The quintessential gathering of the galaxy’s most talented and insane boarders. The object of the game is to zoom as far into deep space as you can without wiping out. Special stunt maneuvers allow you to avoid obstacles along the way. This game harkens back to the classic 8-bit games of the past, packed full of pop culture Easter eggs and engineering jokes. At the end of the project, the source code was donated to the Linux Foundation and made open source for the public to enjoy.
